Queens Park Improvement Plan

BWCCT have been working with a multi-agency group to consider a range of improvements to Queens Park in Windermere. A local environmental design company, Iteriad, have produced a plan of potential projects. The improvements include:

• Improved stream corridor including flood alleviation and environmental/educational areas;
• New footpath circuit incorporating a botanical/fitness trail;
• Improved boundaries;
  
• Draining the playing fields;
  
• Improved play areas and BMX track;
  
• Community garden/ orchard/ seating.
  

Another suggestion is to redevelop the squash courts to create a youth and community facility. Lakes Architect Ltd have produced a model of how the redesigned building could look. There will be an opportunity for local people to see the model and comment on the design.

Public consultation has begun on all suggested improvements.
